  • Required - The field will error if the user does not enter any data into the field. "N" or Not Required is the opposite of "R" Required. Use the "Not Required" feature to allow for an empty field. However if the field is Not empty i.e. the user has entered something into the field, then and only then, will a check be performed on the field.
  • Anything - The field will accept any data of any type including non-alphanumeric data.
  • Alphanumeric - The field will error if the user does not enter alphanumeric data into the field. Alphanumeric data is defined as lowercase [a-z] and uppercase [A-Z] and whole numbers containing the digits from 0-9
  • Number - The field will error if the user does not enter a whole number.
  • Acceptable Characters - The field will error if the user does not enter a predefined range of acceptable characters. As the developer you decide on what those acceptable characters are by entering them into the Acceptable Characters field. You can enter any alphanumeric or non-alphanumeric characters into this field.
  • Unacceptable Characters - This is the reverse of the Acceptable Characters field. Check this option if you wish to disallow the user from entering certain characters into the field.
  • Reg. Exp (Regular Expression) - Create your own customizable regular expression string. Select one of the Flags to indicate whether the users input must conform to the regular expression string or whether it must NOT conform to the regular expression string.   • Must be equivalent to - The field will error if the data entered into this field is NOT equal to the data contain within an existing form field. As the developer you decide as to which field it should be equivalent to, by selecting an existing field from the drop down listbox.
  • Field Length - The field will error if the user does not enter the minimum or maximum number of characters into the field. For example entering 5 and 12 into the Field length fields respectively, will ensure that the user cannot enter less than 5 characters and no more than 12.
